Voclet ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered exam preparation platform designed to help candidates prepare for the Dutch Inburgering A2 and B1 exams. Our services are accessible via the Voclet mobile application (iOS and Android) and website at voclet.com.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly and transparently.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use Voclet:
- Account information — email address used to create and manage your account, and authentication data.
- Exam progress and results — scores, answers, speaking recordings (for AI analysis), readiness trends, and session history.
- Usage data — how you interact with the app, features used, time spent, and device information (OS version, device type).
- Payment information — subscription purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details directly.
- Voice recordings — when you use the Speaking feature, your audio is temporarily processed by our AI engine (Engine Orion) to generate feedback. Recordings are not stored permanently.
We do not collect your name, address, nationality, or any government ID. We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the Voclet service.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Voclet app and its features.
- To generate AI feedback on your exam answers, including speaking and writing evaluations.
- To calculate and display your readiness score and performance trends.
- To process and manage your subscription and billing through Apple or Google.
- To send important service-related communications (e.g., account updates, new features).
- To improve the quality of our exam content, AI models, and user experience.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure). We apply industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest.
Access to personal data is restricted to authorized team members who need it to operate and maintain the service. We regularly review our security practices.
Voice recordings used for Speaking evaluation are processed transiently and are not stored permanently on our servers after AI analysis is complete.
Third-Party Services
We may share limited data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate Voclet. These include:
- Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting and backend infrastructure.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription and payment processing.
- AI providers — for speech-to-text and language scoring used in Speaking and Writing features.
- Analytics tools — anonymized usage data to understand how the app is used and improve features.
All third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data.
- Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to certain processing activities, such as analytics.

Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide you with the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.
Anonymized, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
Children's Privacy
Voclet is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Voclet after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
